Reporting on Lincolnscire was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.

Description

Eivor decided to return to Randvi and tell her about the events that transpired in Lincolnscire.

Dialogue

Eivor spoke with Randvi after returning from Lincolnscire, having cast the deciding vote to elect the new ealdorman and cement an alliance between the shire and the Raven Clan.

• Eivor: Lincolnscire is a friend to us.
• Randvi: Wonderful news. And who is our ally there?
• Eivor: Aelfgar is now Ealdorman of Lincolnscire. I believe he will be a good friend to our clan.
• Randvi: Good. I hope he is a man we can trust.

• Eivor: Lincolnscire is a friend to us.
• Randvi: Wonderful news. And who is our ally there?
• Eivor: The boy Hunwald is the new Ealdorman of Lincolnscire, and he has sworn allegiance to us.
• Randvi: The loud one, an ealdorman? Well, should he ever wish to call for aid, he need only shout.

• Eivor: Lincolnscire is with us, under a new leader called Herefrith. A bishop.
• Randvi: Let us hope he keeps his flock in line, and ready for the coming fights.

After completing her pledge to another territory, Eivor learned of Herefrith's betrayal and returned to Lincolnscire to put right her mistake. She returned to Randvi once again.

• Eivor: The fires are out in Lincolnscire. They stand with us again, with Aelfgar as their ealdorman.
• Randvi: Let us hope he proves a more reliable friend.

The raven figurine was put back on Lincolnscire once again, completing the pledge.

Afterwards, Eivor paid a visit to the clan's newest resident at a newly-cleared plot on the southwest corner of the settlement.

Aelfgar is ealdormanHunwald is ealdorman

• Swanburrow: Hunwald, dear. Look, it's Eivor.

Eivor greeted the two of them, both of whom had come to stay as permanent residents.

• Eivor: Hunwald, Swanburrow. Good to see the both of you.
• Hunwald: And you, Eivor! Ah, it is good to see this place again after so much time away. I find such an easy joy here. And to think we will be living here, I am overjoyed.
• Eivor: That joy will last right up until your first blood-sacrifice.
• Hunwald: M-my first what?
• Eivor: Later, my friend. Come. And enjoy your stay.

• Swanburrow: Eivor! It's Swanburrow. Hello.

Eivor greeted Swanburrow, Hunwald having remained in Lincoln as ealdorman.

• Eivor: Swanburrow. You made it.
• Swanburrow: I did. I should send a letter to Hunwald to give him the news. You know how he frets over me.
• Eivor: He misses you, that is certain. But as ealdorman, he cannot afford to let his grief overpower him.
• Swanburrow: I pray he fares well. I adore the lad, but I worry the burden will be too great.
• Eivor: He should be fine. He has the heart of a leader. Now come, settle in. And enjoy your new home.

In time, Eivor would build a proper house for Hunwald's Dane ladylove.
Additionally, she returned to Lincolnscire at a later point to check in on the new ealdorman and greet old faces, who shared their opinions on the new government. At the town hall, she spoke with Grim.

• Eivor: Grim.
• Grim: I do not envy you the position you were in with Lincolnscire. I lead Grimsby simply enough, but to choose the fate and bruise the ego of not one but three men? It's not how we Danes should be spending our precious days.
• Eivor: I am not above unpleasant work. I do what's needed for my settlement and its people.
• Grim: Better than most, my friend. I wish you good fortune in the times ahead.

Aelfgar is ealdormanHunwald is ealdorman

Aelfgar sat at the main long table at the end of the room pouring over paperwork, while the abbess Acha sat at the small table nearby. Eivor spoke to the ealdorman.

• Eivor: Lord Aelfgar. How does it feel to be ealdorman?
• Aelfgar: Much the same. My duties are more manifold, as are the people in my care. But the feeling is remarkably similar. I think I shall be quite comfortable in my role here, Eivor. Thanks to your impeccable judgement.

Eivor spoke to Acha. With the tension of Herefrith's betrayal behind her, she voiced her opinion of the new ealdorman.

• Acha: Aelfgar cares as much for his people as a goat cares for politics. Rest easy, knowing that you have broken no wheel.

Hunwald sat at the main long table at the end of the room pouring over paperwork, while Raeganhere sat at the small table nearby. Eivor spoke to the ealdorman.

• Eivor: Hunwald. Ealdorman of Lincolnscire.
• Hunwald: It does have a lordly ring, does it not? Like the name itself was a holy notch waiting for the right peg to fill the space.
• Eivor: And how do you find your responsibilities?
• Hunwald: Well... answering complaints and levying taxes are a bore to be honest. But the spirit of an ealdorman flows in my veins. I shall find a foothold soon enough.

Nearby, Reaganhere had little to say except well wishes.

• Raeganhere: I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours, Dane.

Acha had returned to her work at the hospice. With the tension of Herefrith's betrayal behind her, she voiced her opinion of the new ealdorman.

• Acha: So you elected a man-child to lead us. To be a vacuum of leadership where a solid pillar is needed. God preserve us all.

At Aelfgarstun, Eivor spoke to Aelfgar about the new ealdorman.

• Eivor: Lord Aelfgar.
• Aelfgar: Eivor. Things certainly are interesting with Hunwald as ealdorman. He's making most of his father's mistakes, but with a passion and honesty I quite admire.
• Eivor: Hardly surprising. I hope you'll be there for him if he needs help.
• Aelfgar: I will. Rest assured.

Outcome

A raven figurine was placed on Lincolnscire to signify the pledge completion.

Behind the Scenes

• This is the only pledge in the game that can be completed twice, technically, if Eivor chose Herefrith as ealdorman, initially.
  • In fact, if Eivor made that choice, the description would first be stated as this:

Bishop Herefrith has been appointed ruler of Lincoln and an alliance has been forged. Return to Randvi with the news.
