Dialogue
Eivor entered the town of Norwich and saw a white cat pacing before the steps to a house.
- Eivor: What a handsome cat. Hello, friend of Freyja. What's wrong?
The cat yowled, then ran off upon being startled by its owner.
Eivor spoke to the boy.
- Norse Child: No, stop! Aw, pig poop! He ran off again.
- Eivor: Cats are free spirits, aloof and haughty, like the goddess Freyja.
- Norse Child: I know. But ever since old Kottr, that old sea-cat has run wild, scaring the chickens and scratching me.
- Eivor: Ah. Ship's cats are good luck. Do you need help catching him?
- Norse Child: O, yes, please.
Eivor and the boy followed Nali's path to the next street near a pavilion. The boy tried to grab the cat, only for Nali to evade him.
- Norse Child: Aww, pig poop! He got past me!
As Nali dashed past, Eivor caught him.
- Eivor: Got you, little mouse-biter.
Eivor spoke to the child again.
- Norse Child: Wow! Nali hasn't let anyone touch him since old Kottr died. But he sure loves you!
- Eivor: Do you want to join my crew, Nali? You would make for a fine raider, I think. Every longship needs a brave cat for luck, and for the rats.
Eivor claimed ownership of Nali.
- Eivor: Looks like I have another raider.
Outcome
Eivor tracked and "recruited" the cat Nali to their ship.
