History

The Atlantis artifacts were used by the Isu for the Olympos Project to create hybrid beasts and imbue them with great superhuman powers and energy based abilities. During the 5th century BCE, these hybrid beasts were discovered and defeated by Kassandra. Kassandra than took the Atlantis artifacts back to Atlantis on behalf of her father Pythagoras and sealed off the Gateway to Atlantis, but also unknowingly awoken the mechanism containing Aletheia's messages within the Gateway.

The Atlantis artifacts are currently located in Atlantis where Kassandra used them to seal off the Gateway to the Lost City of Atlantis.

Functionality

The artifacts were capable of transmutating humans who touched them into hybrid beasts, which gave birth to various myths of fantastical beasts in ancient Greece, including a cyclops, a gorgon, a sphinx, and the Minotaur. When the artifact was active, it appeared as a glowing part of the hybrid beast's body.

The transmutative affects of the Atlantis artifacts were so great that any human who touched the artifacts was transformed into a beast; this resulted in certain mythological beasts, such as the Writhing Dread, and the Minotaur seemingly surviving beyond their mythological deaths.

Given that when the people who were possessed by the Atlantis artifacts were freed by Kassandra from their transformations, it is revealed that they are whitened corpses, indicating that the Atlantis artifacts had the power to preserve the life of human beings they had possessed and transformed for a very long time.

During the 5th century BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra collected the artifacts. Due to her Isu heritage, however, she was able to resist the powers of the artifacts, and did not succumb to them.

Trivia

• Though the Atlantis artifacts look similar to the Apples of Eden when inactive, the artifacts are not themselves Pieces of Eden. ^{[citation needed]}
