Stone of Scone

The Stone of Scone, also called the Stone of Fal and the Stone of Destiny (Scottish Gaelic: Lia Fàil), is a Piece of Eden that takes the form of a large flat stone. According to legend, the Tuatha Dé Danann brought the stone, along with four others, from Ireland to Scotland. The Gaels later used it for their coronation rituals, in which every man called to become the King of Scots must stand on it on the day of his enthronement.

History

By the time of the First War of Scottish Independence, the Stone was under the protection of the Scottish Brotherhood of Assassins. When Fillan arrived at Scone Abbey, he saw two monks making sure a replica of the stone was perfectly aligned and in no danger of falling from the two granite blocks it was perched upon. The Templars attacked the abbey and took the stone to Westminster, only to discover it was a fake. The real stone had been placed in the care of William Wallace, who kept moving throughout the winter, evading the Lann Fala, though he was not able to deliver it to Iona.

Upon arriving at Iona Abbey, Fillan, Ailéas, Moira, Deorsa, and James of Crannach saw the Stone abandoned by the entrance to the building, with Cornavii and two other Lann Fala members nearby. After a fight that ended with the deaths of Deorsa, James, and Cornavii's two soldiers, as well as an injured Sören, Cornavii removed one of his gloves, placed it on the Stone and murmured some words, after which the Stone started glowing and the raindrops started crashing a few centimeters from the rock, against an invisible barrier. Symbols began to gleam on the Stone and a stream of golden energy flowed from it to surround Cornavii's forearm. Cornavii then drew the energy of the stone towards him, which he then used against Moira and the twins, incapacitating them with painful visions.

Fillan was able to break through the illusions and attacked Cornavii, drawing his attention and allowing Ailéas and Moira to recover, with Ailéas joining in the fight against the Templar. Cornavii kept using the Stone during the fight, both to create openings in their defense or to dodge fatal blows, letting the energy around him explode to form a blinding shield. Moira told Ailéas to strike the Stone with her Sword of Fal, which she did while her twin kept Cornavii occupied, causing an explosion of energy that knocked them all to the ground. The storm which had been roaring also subsided.

After a short moment to rest and for Moira to check on Sören, she had the twins help her move the Stone into the Iona Vault, seeing as it was not broken, but merely disabled.
