Memory/notes fail me: are these actually named in-game as "Atlantis artifacts"? Sadelyrate (siniath) 08:45, June 5, 2019 (UTC)

Apples of Eden[edit source]

This is an ongoing discussion.

I just saw that the artbook for Odyssey does in fact call these Apples of Eden. Should we just note that in a BtS section or actually classify them as such? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 08:07, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

Oof, it's better to keep them apart I think. Because this is contradicted by other source: The Essential Guide (2nd Edition). This comes from Isle of Skye's AoE's "BtS" section:

Although this artifact is confirmed to be certainly an Apple of Eden, the fact that it also possesses several functions from the Atlantis Artifacts is inconsistent. During IGN's "Live @ Gamescom 2018" interview, Assassin's Creed Odyssey's game director Scott Philips mentioned that players would be able to recognize several classic Assassin's Creed elements, such as the Apples of Eden, once they defeat the mythical creatures. Yet, the Assassin's Creed: The Essential Guide (2nd edition) explains that these objects only looks like Apples of Eden, but they are a totally different set of Isu artifacts. Thus, the fact that this has been retconned or not remains unanswered.

We cannot be certain about who retconned who. We could look at the release date of each piece of transmedia that talks about these artifacts, but that doesn't really confirm anything.

I personally think the game director for Odyssey would be a more authoritative source than The Essential Guide although it might still be worth checking the dates. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 09:44, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
