Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar

The Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar (Persian: شمشیر زمردنگار, "the emerald-studded sword")[1] was an Isu sword.[2] In the 860s, the Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq recovered the sword, along with the dagger Samsaama, and the armor set Milad's Outfit from the chamber underneath the Northern Oasis after trading Mysterious Shards he had taken from Tha'abeen members.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar is a sword present in the Shahnameh, an epic poem of Persian myth. Forged by the blacksmith Kaveh for the prince Milad, the sword nullified magic and delivered wounds that could only be healed by applying a special potion which required the demon Fulad-zereh's brain. After Milad's death,[1] Fulad-zereh acquired and covetously guarded the sword, for his witch mother had enchanted his body to make it invulnerable to all weapons except this blade, but the hero Amir Arsalan found the weapon and used it to slay the two of them.[3]
