Patrai is a city in Greece which serves as the capital city of Achaia.

History[edit | edit source]

During the 5th century BCE, the city rose to become one of the principal shipyards of Greece thanks to copious raw materials. In this capacity, it was a major construction center for navies while it relied on other nearby cities such as Pellene and Dyme working in tandem to produce fleets.^[1]^[2]
