Arges the Bright One was one of the Cyclopes, hybrid beasts created by the Isu as part of the Olympos Project. During the 5th century BCE, the creature resided on the volcanic island of Nisyros, north of Crete, in the caldera of an ancient volcano.
Between 429 and 422 BCE, the misthios Kassandra traveled to the vault and defeated the cyclops, recovering a hammer allegedly forged by the Isu Hephaistos.[1]
Trivia
- Like Brontes and Steropes, Arges was the name of one of the sons of Uranus and Gaia. The name is Ancient Greek which means 'bright'.
- Arges and his brothers, Brontes, Steropes and the Hecatoncheires were cast into the pits of Tartarus by their father, who was ashamed of his monstrous sons. Kronos, who deposed Uranus shortly thereafter, freed them briefly before imprisoning them again. They were later freed by Zeus during the Titanomachy, and forged his famed thunderbolts, along with Poseidon's trident and Hades' helm of darkness.
- Even though Arges' eye looks similar to Brontes', we do not get any artifact after defeating him.
