The Battle of the Eurymedon (467 BCE)[1] was a battle between the Delian League and the Achaemenid Empire in the greater conflict known as the Greco-Persian Wars.

The Persians began assembling a large army and navy for a major offensive against the Greeks, bringing the Asiatic Greek regions back under Persian control. Hearing of the preparations, the Athenian general Kimon took 200 triremes and attacked the Persians. Though they made landfall, the Delians were prepared and won the battles in both water and land, driving them back.[2]

This victory resulted in Knidos' liberation from the Persians.[1] To celebrate the win, he dedicated a bronze Palm Tree after Kimon.[3]
