The Labourd witch-hunt of 1609 was an investigation in France managed by the French Templar Pierre de Lancre under orders of King Henry IV.[1] One of the victims of the Inquisition was the healer from the Landes region, Catherine, who had an artifact which Pierre de Lancre was after. Due to her refusal to talk, Catherine was burned alive and her daughter Ermeline was kept as a hostage.[2]
