The 1751 Port-au-Prince earthquake was a seismic event that occurred on 21 November in Port-au-Prince, Saint-Domingue, followed by a sea wave.[1]

The earthquake was caused by the defense mechanism of an Isu Temple, which was triggered by the Haitian Assassin Vendredi, sent to explore the site on the orders of his Mentor François Mackandal. While Vendredi attempted to make his escape, falling debris trapped his legs, allowing the Templar Lawrence Washington to kill him after interrogating the Assassin for the location of Mackandal's camp.[2]

Following the earthquake, the Caribbean Assassin Adéwalé sailed to Port-au-Prince to offer aid and met his teenage son Babatunde Josèphe, recruiting him into the Brotherhood.[3][4] Adéwalé left Saint-Domingue to pursue Washington, who had stolen a Precursor box and the Voynich manuscript from Mackandal's camp, but he would return months later with supplies received from the Colonial Assassins.[5]
