Mehmed Demir (died 1917) was a captain in the Ottoman Empire's army and leader of an Instruments of the First Will group active during World War I. The Instruments under Demir sought to restore the long-lost Isu hierarchy by conjuring the Isu Juno in a secret vault buried under the Siwa Oasis where she was believed to be resting.[1]

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1917, he led an expedition to Egypt, hiring Senussi mercenaries for protection and located the vault. Knowing he was followed by a group bent on his destruction, he prepared an ambush in the underground chamber, surprising the British Templar Jeremiah Davies and his allies.[1] Their victory was short-lived, as the group managed to hold their attackers back long enough for Jeremiah to prepare explosive charges and collapse the cavern with the blast.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

His name is occasionally misspelled as "Memhed" in the Assassin's Creed Roleplaying Game.
