Iceland (Old Norse: Ísland) is an European island country in the North Atlantic Ocean. Originally the home of the Papar,[1] the island was later discovered by the Vikings, who would carry ravens aboard their longships and set them free to see if they were near land.[2]
History[edit | edit source]
According to a projection of a map created by the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus, Iceland was home to at least one Isu artifact, located in the western part of the island.[3]
By 889, the Norse explorer Ingólfr Arnarson had become the first permanent settler of Iceland. That year, he and his group struggled through the harsh winters and requested aid from Harald Fairhair, the first King of Norway. Harald planned an expedition to Iceland to send supplies to Ingólfr and asked his ally Eivor Varinsdottir, the jarlskona of the Raven Clan, if she would lead it, though Eivor turned down his offer.[4]
In 2020, the Assassin Layla Hassan modified her Animus to include a number of items based on the huldufólk of Icelandic during her sessions exploring Eivor's genetic memories.[5]
