Abu al-'Abbas Ahmad ibn al-Khasib al-Jarjara'i (died c. 879), better known as Ahmad ibn al-Khasib, was the vizier during al-Muntasir's reign as the Abbasid Caliphate's ruler.[1] With al-Muntasir's sudden illness and death just one year into his reign, al-Khasib was suspected of having orchestrated al-Muntasir's assassination in order to clear the path for al-Musta'in's ascension to the throne.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Assassin's Creed Roleplaying Game presents ibn al-Khasib as poisoning al-Muntasir, clearing the way for al-Musta'in. Historically, he was more instrumental in actually helping al-Muntasir claim the throne and quickly lost power after his death.[1]
