Topple the Traitor was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.

Description

Yasuke and Naoe met with Hashiba Hideyoshi to help him besiege Akechi Mitsuhide's castle and deal with the traitor once and for all.

Dialogue

• Ashigaru Archer: If you expect to die, you will fight without fear.
• Hideyoshi: No, Lord Nobutaka will take the right flank. I am leading the charge.
• Yasuke: Lord Hideyoshi. We are here to join your battle against Mitsuhide.
• Hideyoshi: Good. You show loyalty to Lord Nobunaga. Get in the ranks.
• Yasuke: Yes, Lord Hideyoshi.
• Naoe: Following Hideyoshi is a mistake. To get to Mitsuhide first we need to be in front, not behind.
• Yasuke: Let Lord Hideyoshi fight. We will head straight for Mitsuhide. Are we ready?
• Naoe: Let's move.
• Hideyoshi: Akechi Mitsuhide has betrayed our master, Lord Nobunaga. Now, he expects us to serve him. Today is the day of our vengeance! Hachiman is waiting. Lord Nobunaga is watching. They demand blood. So let us spill it!
• Mitsuhide: Is this all? What about the Hosokawa clan? And the rest of our allies? Then we face the enemy without them.
• Hideyoshi: Take the castle!
• Akechi Castle Guard: There's too many!
• Mitsuhide: I should have killed you in Honnō-ji. Deal with this.

• Yasuke: Turn around, traitor.

• Yasuke: Lord Nobunaga was... That does not justify your treachery.
• Mitsuhide: Someone had to save us from his madness. To stop the endless slaughter of innocents.
• Yasuke: So you defiled your honor. Betrayed your lord. You murdered him with a stab in the back.
• Mitsuhide: The Shinbakufu used me. As I had used you. Have you forgotten Iga?
• Naoe: I'll never forget Iga. Just as I will never forget how you murdered my father.
• Mitsuhide: It was necessary. And now you bank another tyrant, a peasant for Nobunaga's throne. I saved this country. You will destroy it.
• Naoe: No. We will save it from you.
• Mitsuhide: You never were a true samurai.
• Naoe: Speak.
• Mitsuhide: There is another. He would have become Shōgun again. But you... defied death. And hunted us down. We underestimated you. He promised allies, then disappeared. He lives while my dream falls to pieces.
• Naoe: You mean Ashikaga Yoshiaki.
• Mitsuhide: Ashikaga Yoshiaki. The one Nobunaga toppled from power.
• Naoe: And the box. Where is it?
• Mitsuhide: He has it. It is one of the Imperial Regalia.
• Naoe: The Jewel.
• Mitsuhide: For years we searched for it. All that time, hidden in your little village. The Oda clan has many great samurai. But you were the one to avenge our lord. Perhaps... You the greatest of us all.
• Yasuke: Enough. Your time has come.
• Mitsuhide: I lived my life as a samurai. Let me die as one.
• Yasuke: I could give him what he asks.
• Naoe: He does not deserve it.
• Mitsuhide: It is the fifth month, when rain falls Water rushes in the garden on summer mountain. Falling flowers keep back the flow of the pond.

• Yasuke: Will you succeed Lord Nobunaga?
• Hashiba Hideyoshi: A council must find a successor to finish the work. With might to crush any opposition.
• Naoe: And grace to maintain the balance.
• Hashiba Hideyoshi: I am the son of a farmer. I have seen samurai take all and leave nothing. That stops now.
• Naoe: And if they don't, you will hear from us.
• Hashiba Hideyoshi: I'm sure that I will.
• Hashiba Hideyoshi: Samurai. Your actions have honored Lord Nobunaga.
• Yasuke: Thank you, Lord Hideyoshi. That means more than you know.
• Yasuke: Owari no O utsuke.
• Naoe: I thought we finally had him. The one with the Jewel.
• Yasuke: Only one left. Come on, we can do it.
• Yasuke: Time to hunt the Shogun down.

Outcome

Naoe and Yasuke defeated Mitsuhide, who in his final moments revealed the Shinbakufu's leader was Ashikaga Yoshiaki, and where to find both him and the stolen box.
