Dark Waves, Black Ships was a virtual representation of one of Yasuke's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.

Description

Yasuke begins his quest to locate Duarte de Melo, a man from his past.

Dialogue

Yasuke travels to the Trading Port in Obama.

• Yasuke: The port of Obama. There might be clues about Duarte here. I will hunt you down and remove your head from your shoulders, bastard.

In one of the buildings, Yasuke found a note on top of some boxes.

Living Mouths, the cattle, Samemaru.

Samemaru will discuss the "cattle" with Duarte, and another matter about other pirates.

• Yasuke: I know what kind of wares these bastards deal in. Flesh and blood.

He then found another note on a table.

Signal Instructions

Samemaru,

Get your men to light the 3 signals around Obama's port and we will come ashore by the beach.

Do not light them unless you're ready, you know the consequences.

I am growing tired of waiting, so I expect them to be lit soon.

• Yasuke: Signals... The ships will look for a signal. I will look around.

Yasuke traveled to the nearby warehouses and eavesdropped on an elderly man.

• Elderly Man 1: They cannot take me. I am old, withered. I cannot work. Starving is better than living by their rules. I am too old, too weak. it is the young ones who must worry, not me. Not me.

Yasuke lit one of the signal fires nearby.

• Yasuke: This must be one of the signals.

Yasuke went to light next the one, located on an islet in the middle of the port, and overheard a couple near the signal fire.

• Man: A man with a big scar, named Samemaru. Do you remember?
• Woman: I do! He always had another man trailing him like a puppy.

Yasuke then lit the signal fire.

• Yasuke: One more to light. Then Duarte de Melo is mine.

Yasuke went south and was addressed by a man.

• Elderly Man 2: Yasuke, sir, is that you?

Yasuke spoke to him.

• Elderly Man 2: Sir, it's you!
• Yasuke: Have we met?
• Elderly Man 2: Azuchi Castle. I was there serving Lord Nobunaga. You may not know me, but I have seen you.
• Yasuke: I am hard to miss.
• Elderly Man 2: Why have you come to Obama, sir?
• Yasuke: There are darker dealings here than you can imagine. Coves of corruption, inhumane practices... I hope to make Obama safer.
• Elderly Man 2: Some men are not just selling weaponry or lacquerware - especially those on the black ships.
• Yasuke: It is clear what kind of business these slavers deal with.

Yasuke traveled to the last signal fire located the edge of a cliff in the outskirts of the city and lit it up.

• Yasuke: That was the last one. Now I will find somewhere to wait.

Yasuke traveled to the small island north of the bay to wait.

• Yasuke: I cannot let Duarte get away.

After some time, he spotted the arrival of Portuguese boats at the meeting point.

• Yasuke: They come. I have you now, Duarte.

Outcome

Yasuke lit the signal fires and succeeded in luring Duarte's envoy to Wakasa.
