Great Seal to Atlantis

The Great Seal to Atlantis was a chamber room which connected the Gateway to the Lost City to the Isu city of Atlantis. It once served as a throne room to the Atlantean rulers but was subsequently abandoned following the Great Catastrophe.

History

During the Peloponnesian War, the chamber room was unlocked by the misthios Kassandra, who had been given the title of the Keeper by Aletheia as the wielder of the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus. Aletheia modified the chamber room to serve as gateways to the simulation trials of Elysium, the Underworld, and Atlantis which Kassandra had to complete in order to master the staff.[1]

In 2018, the Assassin Layla Hassan, having relieved the memories of Kassandra and took from her the Staff, was able to unlock the Great Seal and gain access to the room herself. Her colleague Victoria Bibeau subsequently followed her in and, despite Layla's protests, insisted on remaining to monitor Layla's condition while she relieved Kassandra's trials in the simulations.[2]

In the midst of these trials, the Templars and Abstergo were able to track down Layla's location under Thera. They sent a team of Sigma agents to take down Layla in the chamber room but were eliminated, leaving only one who was let go by Layla to warn his superiors.[2]

At the end of the trial in the Atlantis simulation, Layla was found by Juhani Otso Berg, whom she correctly identified as the Interloper that had been tapping into the Assassins' communications and tracking their whereabouts. After a fight in which Layla defeated Berg with the Staff of Hermes, she crippled the Templar by piercing his back with the tip of the Spear. Layla subsequently left the throne room along with Victoria's body and Berg to be rescued by the Altaïr II team.[3]
