Gaspar Vilela (1526 – 1572) was a Portuguese missionary and a member of the Military Order of Aviz. He was also a member of the Templar Order and was responsible for influencing the Portuguese and Christian presence in Japan.

During his mission in Japan, he was accompanied by his right hand, the priest João Machado.[1]
