Moira was a Scottish druidess and member of Sören's group.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Rescuing Fillan[edit | edit source]

As a youth, Moira grew up to be a druidess but lost her clan to the Templar hunters, the Lann Fala.[1] By 1296, Moira joined to be part of Norwegian mercenary Sören's group of mercenaries.[2] Tasked by the Scottish Brotherhood of Assassins, they all were sent to recover twins Fillan and Ailéas from Assassin ally and tailor Alastair Aitken from Berwick.[3] However, they recovered an injured Fillan, to whom Moira tended, while they all assumed that Ailéas died in the attack of their village.[2]

Moira kept an eye on Fillan while he recovered on the road to their next destination.[2] While Fillan was in and out of consciousness, Moira and the group scarred the boy to hide his true identity while they traveled. Riding to Cranshaws, Moira took watch guarding the boy for two days when they rode to the village. Soon enough, she gave him to Fergus, a bard and fellow group member, while they were all ambushed by the English when they arrived. She soon saw Fillan run foolishly towards the Lann Fala, a group of Templar exterminators, and their leader Cornavii.[4]

Moira soon grabbed the boy after Craig, her fellow associate, blocked Cornavii's strike. Although stopped by an assailant, she was able to kill him before handing Fillan off to Fergus. By Sören's order, they retreated while Craig sacrificed himself. As a response, they all watched Sören beat Fillan before Moira stopped him from continuing.[5] While she tended to Fillan's wound,[6] the boy trained with Kyle on the basics of swordplay.[7] Soon, they traveled to Dalkeith while Sören went to meet with their Assassin contact and spy Deorsa.[8]

Meanwhile, the group stayed in the village to celebrate the Bealltainn festival.[9] After the festival, they left for Leith to find passage to Scone to meet with the Assassin Council. While waiting for Sören to find a ship, she joined Fillan and Kyle and stated there was tension after Fillan's rite of passage during Bealltainn. Leaving them to talk, she later rejoined the group once a commotion occurred in the village and they all sailed away from Leith.[10]

Sailing away after Fillan killed a thief,[10] they traveled across the Forth and traveled two weeks to Scone.[11] For the next few days, Fillan met with the Brotherhood while the group awaited the next step.[12] With Fillan joining the Brotherhood and tasked to learn under Sören, they prepared to leave for Sören's home Beinn Eallair.[13] However, they were found by the English and the Lann Fala, who set fire to the woods around the abbey. While Fillan and Kyle split from the team, Moira joined Sören and the others to distract their enemies. However, they soon came to rescue Kyle and Fillan from their attackers while Sören fought off Cornavii solely. Fortunately, most of the attackers were killed or fled, with Cornavii fleeing after being injured.[14]

Leaving Scone, Moira and Kyle tended to Fillan and even gagged him to mute his moaning from his wounds. They soon traversed to Beinn Eallair while Fillan recovered and soon realized Moira and the others became Sören's new family after a past Templar attack.[15] Checking on Fillan, she was astounded at his quick and remarkable recovery, especially his restored mobility.[16] Staying in the fort, the mercenaries lived in the fort while Fillan trained by Sören as an Assassin.[17]

Joining the fight for Scotland[edit | edit source]

When Deorsa arrived in Beinn Eallair, he requested Fillan to join the fight and for his first assassination target. With Sören asking his group to join him, Moira and her fellow teammates agreed with no pause.[18] After two weeks, they all arrived in Lanark and followed Assassin William Wallace's directives. The group followed Wallace's lead while Fillan left to assassinate Commander Bradley Dacre.[19] Fortunately, they found Fillan had found his twin sister Ailéas alive and then they all continued to fight against the English.[20]

For two weeks, they fought the English military and traveled to Dunstaffnage, where Kyle's father Alexander Macdougall and his clan lived. However, Moira tended to Edan, her fellow teammate, who was shot by an arrow and injured.[21] While there, her fellow group members defended the fort against an English attack while she mended Edan's wound. However, Moira soon joined Sören, Deorsa, and the twins to the Isle of Mull to Iona to find and safeguard the Stone of Destiny while Kyle and Fergus stayed at the fort.[22]

While sailing to Mull, Sören left the group to venture to Iona faster, with the others remained behind. Moira soon spent time talking with Ailéas as she advised her that she and Fillan were on different paths but stated how she also survived the Lann Fala's savagery. At Mull, they met by the surviving soldiers of Wallace's troops on the isle and Assassin James of Crannach.[1] While riding to Iona, they all encountered more English soldiers and killed them off, with James becoming injured. Riding over to the monastery, they all caught Cornavii and his men killing the guards and retrieving the Stone.[23]

Defeating the Lann Fala[edit | edit source]

Confronting Cornavii, they all watched him engage a surprise attack from Sören. However, they were soon shocked to find James warning Cornavii while killing Deorsa in the process. Engaging the Lann Fala, Moira fought off a burly and stronger member. However, with her potions and speed, she outsmarted and killed the man. While the twins killed James and the remaining Lann Fala members, all three confronted Cornavii, who wounded Sören. However, they were stopped and put into a nightmarish trance by Cornavii's use of the Stone.[24]

However, Fillan managed to break its power and broke Cornavii's grasp on it. With Ailéas soon free, the twins fought valiantly against him but grew weary. However, Moira managed to tell them to hit the stone, which led to a blast pushing everyone back. With this advantage, the twins disarmed Cornavii while Ailéas held him at swordpoint. With no pause, Ailéas cut him down while they later helped Moira up. She later checked on Sören, who suffered a moderate slash on his stomach. With the twins, they placed the Stone back into the monastery. With this action, they eliminated the Lann Fala and saved the Stone.[25]

Skills and equipment[edit | edit source]

Moira's weapon of choice was a wooden staff. She also carried a small knife and created multiple potions.[4]
