Scone Abbey

Scone Abbey is an abbey in the town of Scone, Scotland. It was built atop an Isu vault and, by 1296, it was an operational center for the Scottish Brotherhood of Assassins.

History

At some point prior to 1296, Abbot Thomas of Balmerino became both the leader of the abbey and of the Scottish Brotherhood. In 1296, he hired Sören and his mercenaries to bring two Children of Fal, Fillan and Ailéas, from Berwick to Scone Abbey in an effort to keep them safe from the Templars.

A short time later, the leader of the Lann Fala Cornavii met with the English army's commander Bradley Dacre to inform him that the army would go to Scone and recover some important objects, the location of which they had learned thanks to an informant behind the enemy lines.

When the mercenaries arrived at the abbey, Sören went to talk with Thomas of Balmerino while Fillan toured the building and met the Assassins Deorsa and William Wallace. While talking with Wallace, Fillan spied two monks ensuring a replica of the stone was perfectly aligned and in no danger of falling from the two granite blocks it was perched upon. That same night, Sören led Fillan down into the vault where the Council of the Brotherhood met, promising he would finally get some answers about the Assassins, the Templars, and the Children of Fal. They would also gift him one of the Swords of Fal and invite him to join their Brotherhood, which he would accept the following night.

The English army arrived at Scone days before what Deorsa had expected, attacking them and setting fire to the building. Though Scone Abbey was ransacked, the Assassins and the mercenaries managed to survive the attack.
