The Labourd witch-hunt of 1609 was an investigation managed by Templar Pierre de Lancre under orders of King Henry IV of France.[1] One of the victims of the Inquisition was the healer from the Landes region of France Catherine, who had an artefact which Pierre de Lancre was after. Due to her refusal to talk, Catherine was burned alive and her daughter Ermeline was kept as a hostage.[2]
