Man:The next time those pirates break something of our son's, I'll show them.
Woman:Stop. I want the children to have their father.
They overheard an elderly man by the dock and approached near him.
Elderly Man:No one touch my boat, you hear? It is mine! If anyone wants to use it, that'll be a million koku of rice! And mackerel! Know what is good for you! Walk away from my boat!
Defying the elderly man's orders, Naoe and Yasuke took the boat and rode out to the lake.
Elderly Man:Eh! (sighs) Bring me back some mackerel?
Naoe and Yasuke rode the boat to Hiruga Bay, passing under an arch under a rock formation.
Naoe:How did this come to be? Did a god carve that arch?
After a short ride, she reached Hiruga Bay, which was heavily guarded by pirates.
Naoe:Hiruga Bay. A perfect spot to remain out of sight. Now to find Samemaru.
After she infiltrated the area, she heard a certain tune.
Naoe:That tune. I've heard it before. At Niwa's Estate.
After a short exploration, Naoe recovered a note in one of the huts.
Meeting Notes
Men mentioned delicious noodles at Obama, check out when able. Import Batch 38 success, awaiting more from Peformer. Performer not giving me the shipment of slaves, don't know what he is doing. Time is short, and I have someone else to answer to. Sent him angry letter, and asked Kage to spit on his stupid instrument. He sent letter back, will meet him at his home in Obama's Samurai Yashiki District. Stupid music lover.
Naoe:Samemaru and his mysterious partner are meeting in Obama. I need to find out who this partner is.
Naoe and Yasuke explored another side of the hideout and found the lair where Samemaru resided in. Outside the hut, they eavesdropped on two pirates.
Pirate Thug:Weren't we supposed to ship off the new batch? Where is Samemaru, and where are the captives?
Pirate Archer:Last I heard, Samemaru had to leave again. A meeting with someone important.
Pirate Thug:We can be important too! Bah. I'm so hungry. Wish I had some of Hong's noodles.
Naoe and Yasuke entered the hut.
Naoe:A nasty lair for a nasty man. A clue might be here.
Naoe read a note on the table.
Stop Being Stubborn
Samemaru, Enough with the petty squabbles. Did I not tell you about the Niwa warehouse? Did your men not extract several valuable goods from there, enabling you to earn coin? Then I do not know why you remain stubborn. We will talk. Meet me at my estate. You know where it is. - The Performer
Naoe:The man we are hunting is using Samemaru and his pirates to murder the Niwa clan.
Outcome
Naoe and Yasuke investigated Samemaru's hideout in Hiruga Bay, uncovering his meetings with The Performer at a certain estate in Obama's Samurai Yashiki District.
