Nagahide Estate was the residence of daimyō Niwa Nagahide located in Obama in Wakasa, Japan.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke rushed to the residence after discovering bandits were attacking the area. Seeing Niwa Nagahide fighting the bandits off, they joined and helped defeat the attackers. After Nagahide thanked them, they all helped dispose of the bodies by placing them in a pyre. Then, they discussed how his clan were threatened and attack by one called "The Performer". Realizing that their target was one and the same, the pair asked for his help, to which Nagahide informed them to find a cook named Hong who deals in information.[1]
After The Performer was discovered to be Takeda Motoaki and was ultimately killed,[2] Naoe and Yasuke returned to the estate and met with Nagahide upon his request. Nagahide then asked them to recover certain valuables for his collection whilst on their travels, to which they agreed. After they recovered all of the valuables, they returned to Nagahide and gave him all of the items.[3]
However, Nagahide asked Naoe and Yasuke that they buy a spinning top out in the town as his last request. Within a few moments, they returned and gave the top while Nagahide informed them that these items were for his wife, who had been going blind for some time. Explaining how he wanted to share these items as tokens of their past, Nagahide thanked the pair on behalf of him and his wife.[3]
