The Hunters of Kyonyo was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.

Description

Kennyo requests help with saving his son, Kyonyo, from a group of bounty hunters.

Dialogue

Naoe and Yasuke vists the Fudo-do Temple in Kii. There, they found a monk seemingly needing help and approached him.

NaoeYasuke

• Kennyo: A shinobi. Friend or foe?
• Naoe: I am Naoe. Of the Kakushiba ikki.
• Kennyo: Ah. I believe you are acquainted with the abbot of the Ikko ikki, Kyonyo. I am his father, Kennyo. Though he and I have been on different paths for some time now.
• Naoe: Since you signed the peace treaty with Oda Nobunaga. Something Kyonyo could not agree to.
• Kennyo: While my desire for peace brought many together, it caused a division between Kyonyo and me. It cost us our bond. And now, it may cost Kyonyo his life.
• Naoe: Kyonyo is in danger?
• Kennyo: I am told he was attacked. Ambushed by bounty hunters. Under whose orders, I am unsure. I had hoped we would reconcile, but now...
• Naoe: I know the pain of things left unsaid between a father and a child. All too well. What can you tell me of these bounty hunters?
• Kennyo: This is all I know.

Kennyo hands over a note to Naoe.

• Naoe: This will help. I will deal with his hunters. Rest assured, Kyonyo will be safe. And if I may...
• Kennyo: Please.
• Naoe: Once this is over, speak with your son. Or it will haunt you. Trust me on this.

• Kennyo: A samurai. Friend or foe?
• Yasuke: Friend. I am Yasuke. Of the Kakushiba ikki.

Outcome

With the threat averted, father and son began to mend their relationship.
