Guardian Spirit was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe 's and Yasuke 's genetic memories , relived through the Animus EGO .[1]
Naoe and Yasuke find an orphan in Harima whose mother was killed by rōnin
Naoe and Yasuke found a young girl crying and praying in front of a small altar in Itatehyōzu Shrine .
Orphaned Girl: Please... All I want is to be with my mother again.
Naoe: Are you all right? Where is your mother? The girl took a guarded stance.
Orphaned Girl: Stay away! Did the rōnin who killed my mother send you? Naoe: What? Nobody has sent me to harm you. Orphaned Girl: I prayed to the kami to make me a spirit too. So I don't have to be lonely and scared. Naoe: No need to be scared. I can make sure the rōnin won't hurt you again. Orphaned Girl: So the kami did send you! Naoe left the girl alone.
Naoe: With Oda Nobunaga dead , so many rōnin have turned to violence. I will stop them. Naoe left the shrine and tracked down a number of rōnin .
Naoe: I should find the little girl whose mother was killed by rōnin. Let her know she's safe. She returned to Itatehyōzu Shrine and found the girl.
Orphaned Girl: You're alive! I was scared the rōnin would kill you too. Naoe: You don't have to be afraid anymore. I took care of the rōnin.Orphaned Girl: And my mother? I am still lonely. Naoe: The loneliness will always be with you, but you can find others to walk beside you. A new family. Friends. Orphaned Girl: I'd rather be alone. So nobody suffers like me when I die. Just take this. I offered the rest to the kami, for their help.
Yasuke: Are you all right? Where is your mother? Orphaned Girl: You're one of them, aren't you? The rōnin who killed my mother. Yasuke: I will not harm you. You have my word. Orphaned Girl: I prayed to the kami to make me a spirit too. So I don't have to be lonely and scared. Yasuke: You do not need to be scared anymore. I will take care of the rōnin.Orphaned Girl: So the kami did send you! Yasuke: Since Lord Nobunaga died, so many rōnin have turned to violence. I must put a stop to it.
