Izumi:Bow down before the kabukimono!' We are the most feared ronin in the land!
Naoe approached the priest standing next to the young girl, who then ran off.
Naoe:Whoa, there.
Shin'nyo:(sighs) Forgive her. She has fallen under the spell of the kabukimono. Troublesome ronin growing in number.
Naoe:I thought ronin were swords for hire.
Shin'nyo:Kabukimono are different from other ronin. They scorn law and customs. Disrupt our social harmony. Their colorful robes and disregard for civility is exciting for young people. But it's the poor and defenseless who suffer.
Shin'nyo:The daimyo are too busy with their battles and intrigues to hear the people's plea for justice.
Naoe:I hear them. Justice will be done.
The priest bowed in gratitude.
Chief Cuckoo

Ronin Staffmaster:This place is dead. Nobody wants to drink or dance with us.
Ronin:(laughs) That's because we killed them all.
Naoe attacked Big Sueki and his group.
Big Sueki:You have come to join our celebration?
Naoe:I've no time for your foolishness.
Naoe killed Big Sueki and his gang, obtaining a katana from his body.
Grave Dancer
Naoe traveled to Sumiyoshi Shrine to track down the kabukimono named Grave Dancer. At the shrine, she found him wandering alongside his ronin companion.
Ronin Staffmaster:Did you see that old woman's face when i took a piss in the street? (laughs)
Grave Dancer:I thought she'd drop dead from the shock.
Naoe attacked the group.
Grave Dancer:Do we shock you?
Naoe:No, you make me sick.
Naoe eliminate Grave Dancer and his associate, looting a katana from his body.
Ember
Naoe traveled to Osaka, where she reached an area of burnt down houses.
Naoe:The air here smells of smoke and fear. The kabukimono must have done this.
She found a woman crying.
Woman:(cries) The kabukimono set my home on fire. Just to watch it burn! They bring no good to this world. Only destruction.
She later found the kabukimono Ember with his gang located within the area a burnt down warehouse. She entered and attacked the group.
Ember:We will set the world on fire!
Naoe:Not in my world.
Naoe defeated and killed Ember and his group of ronin, obtaining a teppo from his body.
Ghost General
Naoe traveled to Sakai's Firearm District, where she found the kabukimono Ghost General with his group at a warehouse. Naoe got up to the rooftop and found the ronin in a storeroom filled with explosive jars. She threw a kunai at the jar, which exploded and killed the kabukimono. From his body, Naoe looted a katana and a letter.
Naoe:A letter. It says the kabukimono have been using the board at the shrine to post messages.
Following the letter, Naoe returned to the Nishinomiya Shrine and found the message board.
Naoe:There are messages from kabukimono leaders, asking ronin to join them in Settsu. That would be very bad for the people. They brag about their crimes and display their plans for all to see. Their arrogance could be my advantage. They've told me where to find them. In Harima. I can hunt them down, one by one. Or... I could post a reply. Ask them to gather. Finish them all at once.
Naoe:I'll take them down seperately. Will be easier to pick them off alone.
Having made the choice, Naoe first headed to northwestern Mount Kasagata to locate Peacock. He found him on the road along with a bodyguard.
Naoe:Almost there. No need to let the kabukimono see me... until I'm ready.
When she was ready, Naoe attacked Peacock and his guard, killing them both, and looted a bow from his body. She then next travel to the mountain's eastern side, where she found Laughing Man camping at the Blackstone Cascades with his ronin associate.
Naoe:Almost there. No need to let the kabukimono see me... until I'm ready.
Naoe freeran up the giant tree branch and reached a spot where she was able to jump down and assassinate the kabukimono right away, claiming a trinket from his body.
Naoe:One more kabukimono to silence, and the people of Settsu will know peace.
Naoe then traveled to the Habayama Camp, where her last target Corrupt Blade had made camp.
Naoe:Almost there. No need to let the kabukimono see me... until I'm ready.
When the time was right, Naoe attacked and killed Corrupt Blade and his group of ronin, looting a long katana from the former's body.
Naoe:I will tell the priest the people of Settsu can get on with their lives now.
Naoe returned to Nishinomiya and spoke to Shin'nyo, with the young girl present as well.
Izumi:Did you see the kabukimono?
Naoe:I saw them... and, uh, they agreed to stay far, far away from Settsu.
Izumi:Eh? Why did you do that? They were the most interesting thing in this dusty place. I know! I'll put on plays! Keep their stories alive.
Izumi:No. Noh plays are boring. Mine will have more songs. And dancing! I'll name them after the kabukimono, and everyone will come see my kabuki plays!
Shin'nyo:Izumi! You must not bother these good people with fantasies. Back to your studies.
Izumi listened and walked away.
Shin'nyo:(sighs) Ah, the resilience of youth. When she's older, she may even appreciate the peace you brought to her people. Thank you.
Outcome
Naoe hunted down the kabukimono in Izumi Settsu and Harima, restoring some peace and civility in the land.
