Akira was a ronin and a member of the Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins who lived during the Sengoku period.
By 1558, the Japanese Brotherhood sent Akira to the Owari Province in order to recover a Piece of Eden in the possession of João Machado, a member of the Templar Order and right hand man of Gaspar Vilela. In order to get close to him, Akira lent his services to the daimyō Oda Nobunaga and joined the kunoichi Mochizuki Chiyome on a mission to obtain a shipment of arquebuses for Nobunaga's men.[1]
Akira and Mochizuki boarded João's ship and dispatched the Portuguese guards, allowing Akira to get close to João and promptly assassinate him. As more guards arrived to clash against Akira, Mochizuki recovered the Piece of Eden during the commotion and managed to escape as the ship exploded, leaving Akira's fate unknown.[1]
