The Scone Vault was an Isu vault located beneath the Scone Abbey in Scotland. Accessible from hidden stairs installed into the abbey, the vault was used by the Scottish Assassins as their headquarters during the 13th century.[1]
After a long descent into the depths of Scone, the stairway carved into the rock led to the temple. The vault was made up of a first corridor opening onto a bridge overhanging abysses, then another long corridor adorned with Isu symbols and finally a big circular room. It was in this chamber, where they had installed wooden seats, that the Assassins held council.[1]
The Vault presumably held the Stone of Scone, an Isu artifact which after its discovery would become an important part of the coronation ceremony for the monarchs of Scotland, which was kept in the Abbey.[1]
