"You who have power over the heavens, earth, and sea. Daughter of the Titan Perses. Protector of the wild places, goddess of the crossroads. Gatekeeper between the worlds. The son of Cronos honors you above all and shared his divine gifts with you. Grant us your protection and wisdom."
―Inscription on Hekate's statue[src]

Hekate was an Isu revered as a goddess in ancient Greek religion and mythology. She associated with magic, ghosts, and necromancy and was often depicted as three-formed.

In a simulation created by Aletheia, Hekate resided in the realm of Elysium, which was ruled over by her friend Persephone.[1]

Biography

Simulated life

Sometime after 422 BCE, a simulation of Elysium was created by the Isu Aletheia in order to allow the Spartan misthios Kassandra to strengthen her connection with the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus. Inside this simulation, Kassandra and Hekate worked together to undermine the rule of Persephone, who was ostensibly the best-friend of Hekate. Hekate tasked Kassandra with collecting Persephone's journal from within Gaia's Underpass.[2]

Legacy and influence

During the 5th century BCE, a woman worshipped Hekate on the Greek island of Seriphos vocally enough for her to be known by the goddess.[3]

During the 1st century BCE, a statue of Hekate was located in the Shrine of Whispers, the base of the priestess Melitta's operations.[4]
