The Titans are a race of divine beings in the Greek mythology, preceding the Olympians, who ousted them. They are sometimes called gods, or Titan gods.

Influence and legacy[edit | edit source]

In the 5th century BCE Greece, stories of the Titans and their clashes with their Olympian heirs were commonly known, remembered, and recounted. Statues featuring the Titans, their trials and deeds and tribulations were scattered here and there over the Greek world.[1]

One of these memorials oversaw the battleground within Forest of Soron in Arkadia.[1]
