The Art of Kintsugi was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.[1]

Naoe and Yasuke return to Iga.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Naoe arrived at the rice fields of Mibuno Vale.
- Naoe: [sighs] Iga. You'll always be home to me. Even like this.
As Naoe took a look around her former home, Yasuke joined her.
- Yasuke: Is it hard for you to be here? With me?
- Naoe: What do you mean?
- Yasuke: When you and I were... first here.
- Naoe: No. We've all taken actions we regret while wearing the cloaks of loyalty. All of us. I'm glad you're here with me, Yasuke.
- Yasuke: Still. I am sorry you lost your home.
- Naoe: You lost yours, too. At least I still have the pieces.
- Yasuke: I never... thought of it that way.
- Naoe: With the pieces... you can mend. Strengthen. Make something that was already precious even more so.
Naoe took out her tsuchibue.
- Naoe: Have you ever gotten a good look at the little tanuki's handwork?
- Yasuke: Kintsugi. It is beautiful.
- Naoe: Maybe it will be the same with our homes.
- Yasuke: I do not think we have enough gold for that.
- Naoe: We could bring Gennojo out of retirement. He's an excellent thief.
- Yasuke: It will never be the same, though.
- Naoe: No.
- Yasuke: How does it sound, the tsuchibue? After Junjiro mended it?
- Naoe: Even better. See for yourself.
Naoe handed the instrument to Yasuke, who tried to blow it but failed terribly.
- Yasuke: Perhaps "better" depends on who is playing.
The two laughed.
- Yasuke: [laughs]
Yasuke left as the two resumed on their objectives.
- Naoe: No shame in trying. But Yasuke should stick to swords.
