Wilhelm Schmidt (born 1907) was a Nazi officer who held the rank of Oobersturmführer in the Schutzstaffel during World War II.
By 1942, Schmidt was one of the newly-joined members of the Templar Order. During the German's military occupation of Paris, Schmidt organized a private party at the Folies Bergère in the city, attended by guests that included soldiers, officers and local celebrities. Within the theater, Schmidt used an area as his office where he kept important and sensitive documents, including one on fellow Templar Heinz Müller. He also installed an explosive booby trap in the drawer in the event someone would attempt to steal the attempt.[1]
Sure enough, the party was infiltrated by two members of the Assassin Brotherhood, Major Gallagher and The Ambassador, who managed to retrieve the Templar intel with the help of French dancer Josephine Boulanger.[1]
