Oichi's bodyguard Kuma tasks Naoe and Yasuke to eliminate the corrupt daikans who steal from the poor across Japan.
Dialogue
Still in Ōmi, Naoe and Yasuke traveled to Nomura Village in the east, where they found the daikanGamo Morinari, otherwise known as The Sword Hunter, with his group of guards.
Gamo Morinari:This does not tally with the census. Some of those peasant rats must be hiding their swords.
Ashigaru Spearman:What happened here?
Naoe attacked the daikan and his guards.
Gamo Morinari:You! Not a step further. Who are you?
Naoe eliminated Morinari and his group of soldiers and ronin.
Naoe:The sword hunt is over.
Naoe and Yasuke traveled to Ōtsu, where they overheard two women talking about the daikan.
Woman 1:The trees in the daikan's estate are so lush, a fly would not fit through the foliage.
Woman 2:Must be something in the soil. Such fertile land.
They passed by a woman and a man outside the daikan's residence.
Man:Isshiki Mansaku think he's too good for us now. He won't even see us, much less share his riches.
Woman:Can you believe he used to wait outside our doors and under our latrines to collect waste for sale?
Man:Now he's ordering us to pay our taxes in waste. Imagine!
On another side of the residence outskirts, they eavesdropped on two fieldworkers.
Fieldworker 1:The daikan was once lowlier than us. What sort of riches did he earn from selling waste?
Fieldworker 2:He spent it all on keeping people out. That huge gate is the only way in and it's always guarded.
Fieldworker 1:I have heard there is an opening around back.
Naoe and Yasuke headed further down the road, where they overheard a conversation between two children.
Child 1:Eugh, that smell! What's the daikan keeping in there?
Child 2:Eeh, is it coming from the house, or is it coming from you? (giggles)
Child 1:Hey!
Having learned an opening at the back of the residence, Naoe and Yasuke headed there and found a way into the building undetected. The two found the daikan walk around the premises and assassinated him when he was alone.
Naoe:That was one dirty daikan. Good riddance.
The Concubine
Naoe and Yasuke traveled to Kyoto in Yamashiro to hunt their third target, Ise Asuka, otherwise known as The Concubine. They found their target inside a house at a Noh theater southeast of Honnō-ji and assassinated him.
Naoe:Three of the corrupt daikan are dead. I must finish the rest.
Outcome
Naoe and Yasuke eliminated the corrupt daikans on Kuma's behalf.
