A staff (pl. staves) was a type of melee weapon. These blunt weapons served several purposes. Some types were used for daily work, like the Shepherd's Cane, whilst others were specifically crafted for combat.

One profession that often used staves was priesthood. During the last centuries, priests have often used staves as a means to stay mobile, in rituals and as a symbol of their status.

One particular staff, the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus is actually an Isu Piece of Eden.[1]

Description

Staves were often made of wood, but were some somtimes completely or partially made of metal. Staves mainly consist of a wooden stick with at the end, a wooden or metal head. Staves created for battle mainly feature a club at the end, whilst staves made for professions often have a decorated end.
