The Trial of the Gods is a timed weekly community event in Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Memories[edit | edit source]

Description[edit | edit source]

The weekly event consists of boss battles against manifestations of three Egyptian deities, who appear at fixed locations: Anubis in the Great Sand Sea, Sekhmet in the Desheret Desert, and Sobek in Herakleion Nome. The available encounters rotate every week, and only two are unlocked at any one time. Additionally, one of the bosses is given a "normal" difficulty level (which scales depending on the player's level, up to a maximum of 55), while the other has a "high" level (maximum 58). Defeating each deity grants a reward, as described in the table below, but only one reward can be claimed from each battle per week.[1]

In-universe, the encounters are described as "glitches" in the Animus simulation, caused by an emotion sensor overload, which resulted in the manifestations of the Egyptian deities corrupting the simulation. In order to protect the Animus data, Layla Hassan, as Bayek, must confront and defeat the manifestations to stabilize the simulation.[1]
