The Reconquista (Spanish and Portuguese for "reconquest") is a name used in English to describe the period in the history of the Iberian Peninsula between the Umayyad conquest of Hispania in 711 and the fall of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada to the expanding Christendoms in 1491. In the late 15th century, the war saw the involvement of the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins and Spanish Rite of the Templar Order.
The war ended after Muhammad XII of Granada surrendered the city to the Spanish Inquisition.[1]
