Ivo Jolicoeur (born 1685) was a French adventurer who lived and travelled throughout the Caribbean during the early 18th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Born to a rich family, Ivo had a studious upbringing, but as he grew older, he became disappointed with how the world worked and drifted from one profession to the next. He refused to rely on his family's wealth and was a capable trader, thief, privateer, soldier and gambler.[1]

Though he never married he did settle down briefly with a girl and eventually the two bore a daughter, Jacquotte Jolicoeur. He was unable to stay put for long and eventually returned to life as a wanderer,[1] leaving Jacquotte to be raised by her grandparents.[2]
