Ahmed of Granada
Ahmed of Granada was the son of Sultan Muhammad XII, the last Muslim monarch in the Iberian Peninsula during the Reconquista.[1]
Biography[edit | edit source]
Towards the end of the Granada War, the young Ahmed was being sheltered within a rural village in Andalusia. In 1492, the Templars found and kidnapped the prince, hoping to ransom him for the Apple of Eden in his father's possession. The Assassins Aguilar de Nerha, María, and Benedicto attempted to rescue him as he was transported away, but they failed and were captured alongside him.[1]
As planned, the Grand Inquisitor of the Spanish Inquisition, Tomás de Torquemada, later met with Muhammad XII in the Alhambra, to exchange Ahmed for the sultan's Apple of Eden. The Templars stayed true to their deal, releasing Ahmed back to his father, but Aguilar and María launched an attack right afterwards.[1]
