Nancy Grace Augusta Wake (1912 – 2011), using the alias Nancy Drake and later known as the White Mouse, was a New Zealander nurse and journalist who became a member of the French Resistance and later the Special Operations Executive during World War II.[1]

In 1942 while part of the French Resistance, Nancy and the French dancer Josephine Baker assisted the Assassins Gallagher and "The Ambassador" in their infiltration mission at the Folies Bergère in German-occupied Paris. Working as a distraction, Nancy and Josephine were compromised when they were detected by a German officer named Oskar Fiedler. When Oskar came closer and drew up his Luger pistol, Nancy drew up her pistol and shot the officer in the head, blowing the undercover part of the mission.
