Topple the Traitor was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.[1]

Yasuke and Naoe met with Hashiba Hideyoshi to help him besiege Akechi Mitsuhide's castle and deal with the traitor once and for all.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Yasuke and Naoe entered Hideyoshi's camp.
- Ashigaru Archer: If you expect to die, you will fight without fear.
- Ashigaru Spearman: We marched for days to get here. But we've caught the Akechi army off guard.
- Samurai Duelist: Mitsuhide broke the sacred vow. A samurai never turns against his lord.
- Ashigaru Swordsman 1: Mitsuhide has no honor. I would never serve his cause.
- Ashigaru Swordsman 2: Lord Hideyoshi fights for Lord Nobunaga's legacy.
Yasuke and Naoe approached Hideyoshi and bowed and kneeled before him.
- Hideyoshi: No. Lord Nobutaka will take the right flank. I am leading the charge.
- Yasuke: Lord Hideyoshi. We are here to join your battle against Mitsuhide.
- Hideyoshi: Good. You show loyalty to Lord Nobunaga. Get in the ranks.

The soldiers on both sides battle, Yasuke and Naoe then made their approach to Shoryuji Castle.
- Akechi Castle Guard: There's too many!
- Akechi Castle Guard: Get ready!
- Akechi Castle Guard: They're getting closer!
- Akechi Castle Guard: Lord Mitsuhide has damned us!
Yasuke and Naoe entered the stairs of the castle's main building and was approached from behind by samurai, with Mitsuhide soon following them.
- Mitsuhide: I should have killed you in Honnō-ji. Deal with this.
Yasuke and Naoe caught up with Mitsuhide near Ōyamazaki.
- Akechi Guard: Lord Mitsuhide, we will cover your retreat.
Mitsuhide took a moment and looked around, watching nearby villagers observing.
- Mitsuhide: No. No more running. I will face my fate with sword in hand. Go. I release you.
The guard left.
- Naoe: Nowhere to hide.
- Yasuke: Turn around, traitor.
- Mitsuhide: Yasuke. Nobunaga's loyal blade. I once shared that loyalty. Then he burned Enryaku-ji down. Monks, women, children. We burned and beheaded them all. By the thousands.
- Yasuke: Lord Nobunaga was... That does not justify your treachery.
- Mitsuhide: Someone had to save us from his madness. To stop the endless slaughter of innocents.
- Yasuke: So you defiled your honor. Betrayed your lord. You murdered him with a stab in the back.
- Mitsuhide: The Shinbakufu used me. As I had used you. Have you forgotten Iga?
- Naoe: I'll never forget Iga. Just as I will never forget how you murdered my father.
- Mitsuhide: It was necessary. And now you back another tyrant, a peasant for Nobunaga's throne. I saved this country. You will destroy it.

Partway through the battle, Naoe joined the fight.
- Mitsuhide: (Laughs) Weak.
- Mitsuhide: You are fading!
Yasuke and Naoe defeated Mitsuhide in battle.
- Naoe: Speak.
- Mitsuhide: There is another. He would have become Shōgun again. But you... defied death. And hunted us down. We underestimated you. He promised allies, then disappeared. He lives while my dream falls to pieces.
- Naoe: You mean Ashikaga Yoshiaki.
- Mitsuhide: Ashikaga Yoshiaki. The one Nobunaga toppled from power.
- Naoe: And the box. Where is it?
- Mitsuhide: He has it. It is one of the Imperial Regalia.
- Naoe: The Jewel.
- Mitsuhide: For years we searched for it. All that time, hidden in your little village. The Oda clan has many great samurai. But you were the one to avenge our lord. Perhaps... you are the greatest of us all.
- Yasuke: Enough. Your time has come.
- Mitsuhide: I lived my life as a samurai. Let me die as one.
- Yasuke: I could give him what he asks.
- Naoe: He does not deserve it.
- Mitsuhide: It is the fifth month, when rain falls

Falling flowers keep back the flow of the pond. - Naoe: Your life's work is undone tonight, samurai. But my father's legacy lives on through me.
Naoe killed Mitsuhide.
- Mitsuhide: (gurgles)
Yasuke and Naoe left, and villagers gathered around Mitsuhide's body. Hideyoshi rode toward Ōyamazaki, Yasuke and Naoe bowed before him.
- Hashiba Hideyoshi: Lord Nobunaga has been avenged. My men will collect the traitor's head and we will savor today's victory.
- Yasuke: Will you succeed Lord Nobunaga?
- Hashiba Hideyoshi: A council must find a successor to finish the work. With might to crush any opposition.
- Naoe: And grace to maintain the balance.
- Hashiba Hideyoshi: I am the son of a farmer. I have seen samurai take all and leave nothing. That stops now.
- Naoe: And if they don't, you will hear from us.
- Hashiba Hideyoshi: I'm sure that I will.
Naoe bowed. Hideyoshi started to leave then gestured to Yasuke to approach him.
- Hashiba Hideyoshi: Samurai. Your actions have honored Lord Nobunaga.
Yasuke bowed.
- Yasuke: Thank you, Lord Hideyoshi. That means more than you know.
Hideyoshi leaves and Yasuke kneels down.
- Yasuke: Owari no O-utsuke.
Yasuke returns to Naoe.
- Naoe: I thought we finally had him. The one with the Jewel.
- Yasuke: Only one left. Come on, we can do it.
- Naoe: Whatever the Shōgun's plans are, we will stop them.
- Yasuke: Time to hunt the Shōgun down.

Naoe and Yasuke defeated Mitsuhide, who in his final moments revealed the Shinbakufu's leader was Ashikaga Yoshiaki, and where to find both him and the stolen box.
