Wounds of Days Gone By was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2018 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.[1]

Kassandra met with Timotheos, who was training on a cliff near the Isle of Salamis.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Timotheos saw Kassandra approaching.
- Timotheos: Kassandra! There you are.
Kassandra walked closer.
- Kassandra: Am I interrupting?
- Timotheos: This is where I used to practice sparring with my father. After he retired to the fishing business, he lost interest. But I kept up the practice on my own.
- Kassandra: Sparring without a partner isn't a real challenge.
- Timotheos: Are you trying to goad me into a sparring match, mercenary?
- Kassandra: I might be interested in some friendly competition.
- Timotheos: I... don't think that's a good idea.
- Kassandra: Are you scared, Athenian?
- Timotheos: I just... Fine. Let's spar.
("Let's start.")
- Kassandra: Let's see what you've got.
During the fight, Timotheos got in a few punches.
- Kassandra: That all you've got?
- Timotheos: Ha! I'm just getting started.
Timotheos began taunting Kassandra.
- Timotheos: Come on, mercenary! Keep up!
- Kassandra: Please! You're the one slowing down.
Kassandra landed some punches herself.
- Timotheos: Filthy Spartans!
- Kassandra: Timotheos, are you OK?
Timotheos was forced to his knee.
- Kassandra: You fought well, Athenian. Timotheos?
Timotheos quickly charged her.
- Kassandra: Timotheos, what are you doing?
- Timotheos: I—No. Stop. Stop.
He grabbed his head.
- Timotheos: No! No! Stay back! Get away from me!
- Kassandra: I'll stay back. I promise.
- Timotheos: I—don't know what I'll do if you get too close.
- Kassandra: I'm not going to hurt you. Let me—
- Timotheos: Don't you get it? I might hurt you if you don't stay away!
- Kassandra: You're not going to hurt me, Timotheos.
- Timotheos: You don't... you don't know that. I don't know if I could stop myself right now.
- Kassandra: Even if you did try to hurt me, I'm more than capable of fending you off.
- Timotheos: That's not... You're underestimating what I'll do when this happens.
- Kassandra: I know you're stronger than whatever this is.
- Timotheos: When I get like this... If I lose control for even a second, the terrible things I see myself doing...
- Kassandra: Timotheos...
- Timotheos: No, no, no. Stop. Stop!
- Kassandra: Just breathe.
- Timotheos: I'm OK. I'm OK. Thank you.
- Kassandra: Just calm down.
- Timotheos: Like it's that fucking easy!
- Kassandra: You're safe, Timotheos. I promise.
- Timotheos: I need to be alone right now. I—I'm sorry.
Timotheos left a puzzled Kassandra behind.
- Timotheos: I feel... better. Thank you. Would you mind... staying with me for a moment?
- Kassandra: Whatever you need.
After a while, they sat and watched the sunset.
- Timotheos: Father handled coming back from the war so much better than I did. Any loud noise or unexpected hand on my shoulder, and my heart bursts from my chest. But he never flinched.
- Kassandra: Did you tell him?
- Timotheos: I couldn't bear to tell father the reason I was discharged, let alone this. I wanted to make him proud.
- Kassandra: Why were you discharged?
- Timotheos: I... lost control in a battle and killed one of my comrades. My commander and I were close, so he discharged me with mania instead of charging me with treason. When I returned from the war, father never asked why. I don't know if he suspected or...
- Kassandra: Maybe he was hiding his struggles the way you hid yours.
- Timotheos: If that's true, he was strong enough to hide it from everyone. I'm too weak to even hide it from you.
- Kassandra: Pain doesn't make you weak. Timotheos. You're a survivor.
- Timotheos: When the battle hasn't been won, is there really honor in coming back alive?
She stood up, and lowered her hand to him.
- Kassandra: It's going to be all right, Timotheos.
He took her hand, and stood up. Joining her in watching the sunset.
- Timotheos: For the first time, I think it might be.
- Kassandra: Timotheos, you're a strong person. Anyone can see that.
- Timotheos: You think I'm strong?
- Kassandra: You know you're tough
- Timotheos: Still nice to hear you say it.
- Kassandra: Maybe if you stopped brooding for a second, you'd see it, too.
- Timotheos: My father just died.
- Kassandra: I... You're right. Sorry
- Timotheos: It's... fine.
- Kassandra: Anyone who cares for people the way you do is strong, Timotheos.
- Timotheos: You think i'm caring.
- Kassandra: Of course. You care for Lykinos... and others.
- Timotheos: Others?
She stood up, and lowered her hand to him.
- Kassandra: You're going to be all right, Timotheos.
He took her hand, and stood up.
- Timotheos: Thank you. And... under normal circumstances, I would never tell you to stay away from me.
- Kassandra: We could get closer now.
- Timotheos: What are we waiting for?
The two kissed and spent the night together.
- Kassandra: I think we're close enough for now.
- Timotheos: All right. this is nice, too.
- Kassandra: War isn't easy, Timotheos. Everyone comes back with wounds that never heal.
- Timotheos: Physical scars fade. I'm not sure the ones I have ever will.
- Kassandra: It's going to be all right, Timotheos.
- Timotheos: For the first time, I think it might be.
Regardless, Kassandra thought she should pay the two brothers a visit.
- Kassandra: I should check in on Timotheos and Lykinos at their father's house.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Kassandra and Timotheos sparred, after which it turns out he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder due to the war.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
To calm down Thimotheos, players should choose 1 or 2 of the "calming" responses for the first two choices and "Breathe" for the third one, otherwise their attempts will prove futile.
