Entrance to the tomb

The Alkaios Tomb was a cavernous tomb located on Atoll Point south of Paros Island, Greece.

History[edit | edit source]

During the Peloponnesian War, a witch by the name of Circe claimed the ruins near the tomb as her base, and used the tomb to eliminate people she drugged and robbed.[1] She also had her animals kill the Followers of Ares who had set up a camp outside the tomb.[1]

This lasted until the Spartan misthios Kassandra met Circe and put an end to her deeds. While dealing with Circe, Kassandra also explored the tomb. Within the depths of the tomb, Kassandra found an ancient stele.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Though the name Alkaios is shared by multiple figures in Greek mythology, in the name of this tomb it most likely references the general of Rhadamanthus, associated with Paros Island.
