The Lykaon Wolf was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.

Description

As tasked by Daphnae, the acting leader of the Daughters of Artemis, Kassandra hunted down the fabled Lykaon Wolf.

Dialogue

Kassandra made her way to the Dioskouroi Peninsula and found the massive wolf with the help of Ikaros.

• Kassandra: The size of it... That's no ordinary wolf!

Kassandra engaged the wolf in an epic struggle. It occasionally howled for backup from its pack, but Kassandra defeated the lesser wolves as well as the legendary beast.

Kassandra returned to Daphnae to deliver the pelt.

• Daphnae: Beast Slayer, I'm glad to see you again.

("I have the Lykaon Wolf pelt.")

• Kassandra: The pelt of the Lykaon Wolf.

Kassandra handed the pelt over to Daphnae.

• Daphnae: A wolf is not only a vicious predator, but a cunning adversary. Many have fallen before it.

Expect the best from me.Flirt – I've fallen for more than that.

• Kassandra: You'll come to expect this from me. The impossible made possible.

• Kassandra: If I fall for something, it won't be a beast, but someone here on Chios.
• Daphnae: Don't talk of falling here. Rather think of ascending... to new heights.

(Leave – "I'll return soon.")

• Kassandra: I'll return when I have more pelts.

Outcome

Kassandra slew the Lykaon Wolf and collected its pelt and head.

Trivia

• This quest may overlap with A Legendary Hunt. In that quest, King Archidamos demands the beast's head as a consequence of not bringing a gift to the first audience with the kings. The wolf's head is added as a quest item in anticipation of this contingency and does not affect the player's ability to yield the pelt, which is intended for Daphnae. As a result, the head is always looted whether or not 'A Legendary Hunt' is active.
• Flirting with Daphnae assumes she has already relocated to Chios, even if this pelt is given to her while she is still in Phokis.
