There Can Be Only One was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.

Description

Armed with a viable clue given to her by Megakles, Kassandra set out to find her impostor.

Dialogue

• "Eagle Bearer": The actual Eagle Bearer. That explains why the invasion failed.

They didn't stand a chance.Tell me who you really are.

• Kassandra: Despite everything you tried to do, Alponos is safe, and I cleaned up the mess you made.

• Kassandra: I've been stuck cleaning up your mess since I got here.

• "Eagle Bearer": What a glorious mess it was. When the pirates paid me to soften the town's defenses, I didn't think it would be so easy.
• Kassandra: People are dead because of you.
• "Eagle Bearer": I didn't kill anyone. But you did. We make a great team that way. I steal some tools or blow up an old man's forge. Send some young idiot into bandit-infested mountains. "Lose" a general's steed. Then watch you turn it into pure chaos.
• Kassandra: The fact that Megakles and the pirates both paid you is just a bonus.
• "Eagle Bearer": Everyone pays to hear lies they want to believe.

• Kassandra: Time for justice.
• "Eagle Bearer": May her wrath rain down on both of us.

The mercenaries had an ominous stare down between each other.

• "Eagle Bearer": Chikaros! Attack!
• Kassandra: Chikaros? Maláka.

A chicken attacked Kassandra, though she quickly killed it.

• Kassandra: I'm going to feed your corpse to Ikaros, you stupid bird.

Eventually Kassandra defeated the imposter.

• Kassandra: So long, "Eagle Bearer."

• Kassandra: I'm impressed. Even I don't play both sides like that.
• "Eagle Bearer": I can be even more impressive. You've never thought about it? What it would be like to be with the Eagle Bearer? You're not even a little curious?

Fight - I'd rather kill you.Flirt - I could be tempted.You should join my crew.

• Kassandra: Time for justice.
• "Eagle Bearer": May her wrath rain down on both of us.

• "Eagle Bearer": Chikaros! Attack!
• Kassandra: Chikaros? Maláka.

Eventually Kassandra defeated the imposter.

• "Eagle Bearer": Eagle Bearer, I...
• Kassandra: Shut up.

They kissed an spent some time togehter.

• Kassandra: So, that's what it's like to be with the Eagle Bearer... Turns out I like it.
• "Eagle Bearer": Me, too.

You still have to die.Sail with me.See you around.

• Kassandra: That doesn't change anything. You still deserve justice for how many you killed.
• "Eagle Bearer": You would stain your hands with even more blood?
• Kassandra: Gladly.

• Kassandra: Chikaros? Maláka.

• Kassandra: We clearly get along. Why not join me on my ship?
• "Eagle Bearer": The Adrestia? Think of the carnage left in our wake. We would be unstoppable.
• Kassandra: I'm glad we agree.

• Kassandra: I needed that after the day I've had.
• "Eagle Bearer": So, that's it? We part ways, and you let me live?
• Kassandra: For your sake, I'd suggest you don't cross my path again.

• Kassandra: No, but we should join forces. I have a ship.
• "Eagle Bearer": The Adrestia? Think of the carnage left in our wake. We would be unstoppable.
• Kassandra: I'm glad we agree.

Outcome

Kassandra faced the Eagle Bearer imposter and Chikaros in battle and defeated them, then looted the imposter's sword.

Trivia

• The name of the memory is a reference to the Highlander franchise, where "There can be only one!" is a motto of the Immortals.
• Knocking the Eagle Bearer off the cliff allows players to restart his dialog.
• If the Eagle Bearer is not attacked, there is an option to recruit him as a lieutenant for the Adrestia. If this option is chosen, he is the only mercenary that can be recruited for the Adrestia without having to fight them before hand.
