The Killing Field was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.[1]
Description
Naoe travelled to Nanatsumatsu to locate Wada Koretake's chief Executioner.
Dialogue
Naoe reached the execution site near the town of Amagasaki, overhearing the captives.
- Woman: Please. Let us go.
- Man: Buddha protect us.
- Elderly Woman: You'll all be reborn into hell!
- Samurai: Shut up!
- Naoe: If the guards see me, they'll kill them.
Naoe got close enough to eavesdrop on the Executioner.
- The Executioner: I am honored to cleanse these lands of traitors to Lord Oda Nobunaga. Ha! Do not beg like your cowards. Your tears will not stop my blade.
Despite her best attempts, Naoe was detected and the Executioner and thesurrounding soldiers attacked her.
- Shindo Hiroshii: Seize the shinobi! Put her with the rest of the prisoners.
After taking care of the soldiers, Naoe faced the Executioner.
- Naoe: Where is Wada Koretake?
- Shindo Hiroshii: (laughs) I will die before I say!
- Naoe: So be it.
After a while, Naoe defeated and killed the executioner, recovering a note from his body.
The Executioner's Letter
- Shindo Hiroshii
During my absence, I trust your blade has remained sharp and your justice swift. The sooner we rid these lands of Kyonyo's zealots the better. May their rotting heads serve as a warning to all.
I have returned to Amagasaki Castle after my visit with Lord Nobunaga. Once the prisoners have screamed their last, come join me for sake. I will enlighten you with our lord's plan.
Do not wash the blood off your blade. Crimson on steel is my favorite color.
- Wada Koretake
- Naoe: Kyonyo will be pleased to hear Koretake's location is exposed. We'll need those reinforcements.
Before leaving, Naoe freed the remaining captives.
- Woman: You saved me!
- Elderly Woman: Thank you.
- Man: Thank you for freeing us.
Outcome
Naoe killed the chief Executioner and recovered a letter detailing Koretake's whereabouts.
