History
Viking Age
By the second half of the 10th century, an early incarnation of the Templar Order had established a presence in Scandinavia. Among their ranks was the King of Denmark and Norway, Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson, who was in possession of the Devotion Prong of the Trident of Eden, which he had received as a gift from the Holy Roman Emperor Otto I.[1]
Seeking to spread the Templars' influence into Sweden, Harald formed an alliance with Styrbjörn the Strong and invested himself in the conflict between the prince and his uncle, King Eric, who was aided by the Hidden Ones. Harald lent his support to Styrbjörn's invasion of Sweden to overthrow Eric and tried to use his Prong to control the prince, to no avail.
