Östen Jorundsson

Östen Jorundsson was a Swedish farmer and warrior active during the 10th century. He was married to Hilla and had three children, Tørgils, Agnes, and Greta. He also owned a slave, Arne the Dane, whom he captured himself during a raid.

A staunch supporter of King Eric the Victorious, Östen fought in the Battle of Fýrisvellir against the invading forces of Styrbjörn the Strong, and became a close ally of the Hidden One Thorvald Hjaltason, who later entrusted him with one of the prongs of the Trident of Eden recovered during the battle.

He is an ancestor of David and Grace Collins, two 21st-century siblings who became involved in the Assassin-Templar War.

Behind the scenes

Concept work by Studio Lounak initially had David and Grace reliving the memories of a female Viking, possibly Östen's wife or one of his daughters.
