One Bad Spartan Spoils the Bunch was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
As suggested by Brasidas, Kassandra sought to appeal to King Archidamos by ending the traitorous operation of arming the enslaved helots.
Dialogue
Kassandra rides southwest uphill from Mesoa village. Ikaros helped her find and scan the quarry from the crossroad.
- Kassandra: Found them!
Ikaros spotted the leader of the traitors — Philoktetes.
- Kassandra: Found him!
She rides to the entrance and dismounts.
- Kassandra: This is the marble quarry Brasidas mentioned.
She enters through an opening on the palisade along the entrance, then makes her way through the bushes.
- Kassandra: The weapons have to be here somewhere.
She saw a weapon rack inside a dark grayish cyan tent, which is guarded by soldiers. Before she dispatches them, she reminds herself:
- Kassandra: There's only one Spartan here that I need to kill. It'll be easier if I don't alert the others.
Nevertheless, she destroys it soon after.
- Kassandra: One down, four to go.
Kassandra moves further inside — being careful not to get detected. She spots another one behind a crane north of the quarry and dismantles it.
- Kassandra: That's two. Time to find the others.
She moves up a wooden ramp west, into a chamber with ladders and a hole above. She finds a rack below a tower-like structure and breaks it.
- Kassandra: Three weapon racks destroyed. Won't take much longer.
She moves back out and down to another chamber southeast of the quarry, though this one is smaller and horizontally longer. Kassandra moves in and spots the fourth rack, which she quickly crashes to pieces.
- Kassandra: Only one more to go.
Kassandra caught glimpse of the leader wearing heavy soldier armor and assassinates him. She sees a pulley nearby and uses it to lift herself up. As she lands on a platform, the last rack is sitting there beside her. She destroys it and escapes the quarry.
Outcome
Kassandra assassinates the leader of the treasonous band of Spartans, and destroyed the weapon racks they would give to the helots.
Trivia
- This quest is missable. It is possible to go and meet the kings straightaway; doing this locks out One Bad Spartan Spoils the Bunch as well as Bully the Bullies quests, and grants instead The Legendary Hunt quest.
- The name of this quest is a reference to the proverb "one bad apple spoils the bunch".
