Old Friends, Old Problems was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.

Description

Kassandra caught up with Markos after rescuing him from the Artemisia Fort.

Dialogue

• Markos: Kassandra, welcome to the newest of the Markos estates. I wasn't expecting company, but one must always be prepared! Wine?
• Kassandra: Markos, I can't believe you're here.
• Markos: Believe it, my friend! I'm not a man of one city, but of all cities. Who am I to deny the rest of the Greek world what I have to offer?

(If players choose "Why did you leave Kephallonia?")

• Kassandra: What brings you to Kos, of all places?
• Markos: I've learned a thing or two about soil. Turns out, Kephallonia wasn't the best place for grapes. Plus, the locals here love wine.
• Kassandra: Everybody loves wine.

(Following dialogue dependant on decision made in The Blood Fever)

• Markos: On top of that, Kephallonia isn't as, uh, busy as it was before. Plague came from Kausos, and many died. It was bad for business.

(If players choose "How long have you been here?")

• Kassandra: Been here long?
• Markos: Long enough to establish myself as the foremost wine-seller in Kos! Well, the one wine-seller in Jos. The Koans will come around eventually.

("You came a long way.")

• Kassandra: You made it a long way from home.
• Markos: I could say the same to you! Did you find what you were looking for?
• Kassandra: I did. I found my mother.
• Markos: What a coincidence—I found my Mama too!
• Kassandra: Here? In Kos?
• Markos: Since Kos is her home, Kos is my home too. Say hello, Mama!

Markos and Kassandra turned to a older lady sitting on a bench drinking her wine.

That's not your mother.It's nice to meet her.

• Kassandra: Your "Mama"? You told me your mother was dead.
• Markos: Right, this is my adopted Mama. We've become so close, she wouldn't have it other way!

• Kassandra: Come on, Markos. The truth.

Markos giggled.

• Markos: Well, Mama is the owner of the vineyard. When her husband met his untimely death, it was going to be auctioned off. Something had to be done!
• Kassandra: So you stepped in to help. How generous.
• Markos: It's ridiculous a wonderful lady such as Mama can't inherit her own property. Now, we run the vineyard together. Isn't that right, Mama?

The older lady, now drunk, walked past both Kassandra and Markos holding a wine jar.

• Markos: She'd put up a fuss if she diagreed. It's her land, but she shares it with her precious son—me!

I'm glad it's worked out for you.Sounds like a scheme.

• Kassandra: It's a nice place you've commandeered, Markos.
• Markos: If I didn't know you so well, I'd think you were serious! I'm always laughing these days.
• Kassandra: You weren't laughing much when you were tied up in that fort.

• Kassandra: Don't think I've forgotten that "Markos always has a plan." Sounds like one of your schemes.
• Markos: Kassandra, that was the old Markos. These days, I live a peaceful life.
• Kassandra: YOu were tied up in a fort. That's peaceful?

• Markos: Eh—about that. I have a bit of a problem on my hands.
• Kassandra: Why am I not surprised?
• Markos: But it's something I know you could help me with, my friend! I know your credentials.

("I'm listening.")

• Kassandra: Go on.
• Markos: You know me... I borrow some drachmae., and before I know it, they're calling me the Con of Kos! All thanks to the Cerberus—whom I owe the most.
• Kassandra: The Cerberus? First the Cyclops, and now this? Don't tell me it's a three-headed dog.
• Markos: Don't be ridiculous! This is nothing like the Cyclops. This time, I wish to make a peace offering—with nothing less than my finest wine.
• Kassandra: "Finest?" Palatable, maybe.
• Markos: Kassandra, you're like family to me. And since I'm family to you, I'm sure you wouldn't mind helping.
• Kassandra: You're sure, are you?
• Markos: I promise I can afford to pay you this time. Just take my wine to the Cerberus—simple!

(Accept – I'll bring the wine.)

• Kassandra: Fine. For old time's sake.

Kassandra took the wine from Markos.

• Markos: I can always count on you! And the Cerberus can count on a nice wine pairing with dinner. Take it to his house.
• Kassandra: The Cerberus better not bite me.

Kassandra travelled to Astypalia City, where the Cerberus lived in. She approached one of the men.

• Kassandra: Are you the Cerberus?
• Greek Soldier: Who wants to know?
• Kassandra: Only one head.
  A gift for you. Have you ever had Markos' wine? It's the best of the best.
• Greek Soldier: What's so good about it?

Lie – It's sweet.Lie – It's rich.

• Kassandra: If you savor your wine, you'll like it. It's very rich.

• Greek Soldier: He's not gonna win me over with wine. I never forget whose purse my drachmae goes into.

Kassandra noticed several men surrounding her.

• Kassandra: It's a peace offering. A thank you for waiting so patiently for him to pay you back.
• Greek Soldier: Hmm. Then drink with me, if you think it's so good.

Sure, I'll drink.No, thanks.

• Kassandra: All right.

Kassandra sat down with the Cerberus to drink the wine. As they drank, the man coughed and stood up.

• Greek Soldier: It's poisoned!
• Kassandra: No, that's just the wine.
• Greek Soldier: You tricked me!
• Kassandra: I'm gonna be sick.
• Greek Soldier: Guards! Guards!

Kassandra fled the area before the guards could find her.

• Kassandra: Ugh. Still have the taste of Markos' wine in my mouth.

Kassandra returned to Markos at the vineyard.

• Markos: Ah, she's returned! Let me guess... the Cerberus wants to order another amphora's worth.
• Kassandra: The wine made us sick, Markos.
• Markos: Impossible! It was my best batch. I double checked.
• Kassandra: If you wanted him dead, you should've told me.
• Markos: I did tell you—I'm a new Markos! I don't want people dead, I want what's right. But... that isn't good news.
• Kassandra: No, it's not good. The Cerberus will come after you.
• Markos: What to do, what to do...? What am I saying? Kassandra, this is when we strike.
• Kassandra: Strike? You and what army?
• Markos: I have a demi-god for a best friend! That's an army as strong as twenty soldiers.
• Kassandra: You have it all figured out, don't you?
• Markos: There's only three of them, plus their little group of men. It'll be easy, my friend!
• Kassandra: Three?!
• Markos: Why do you think they're called the Cerberus? Because they're three brothers—triplets! Each with as much bite as the last.
• Kassandra: Great. So there are two others that'll want revenge.
• Markos: Wait a minute, wait a minute—that means two of them haven't tried my wine!
• Kassandra: So what are you going to do?
• Markos: They need to be spooked. As Mama says, a threat is like a bear—very scary! We'll burn the Cerberus' farm. Specifically, the silos.
• Kassandra: That's not a good idea.
• Markos: When have you had reason not to trust me? Don't answer that, my friend. Just trust me!

(Accept – I'll burn their farm.)

• Kassandra: It better work... Though I'm skeptical.
• Markos: It's even worth sacrificing them as potential customers.

(If players choose "What does the farm grow?")

• Kassandra: Do you want the crops burned, too?
• Markos: They grow herbs—harmless plants for medicine. It's just the silos that should go. Blow them up!

(If players choose "Who are the Cerberus brothers?")

• Kassandra: You couldn't have mentioned there were three of them before?
• Markos: I thought it was implied. Having triplets runs in their family.
• Kassandra: That's a lot of cerberuses.
• Markos: Let's hope they don't procreate and have Cerberus puppies.

(Leave – I'll go now.)

• Kassandra: I'll pay their farm a visit.
• Markos: Give them a good scare. I'm pretty sure it's the farm in Astypalia City... Their goons are always hanging around.
• Kassandra: Got it.

Outcome

Kassandra helped Markos to deliver wine to the Cerberus, only to realise it had been poisoned and the Cerberus were three brothers. She reluctantly agreed to help Markos to burn down the farm silos belong to the brothers.
