Giza is a desert region situated in central Egypt, located on the western bank of the river Nile, and home to the Giza pyramid complex. It is home to the Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, as well as several other monuments. In ancient times, it was the necropolis of the nearby city of Memphis, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom.

During the 1st century BCE, Khaliset, a member of the Order of the Ancients, often travelled around the region, in search of rare minerals for her Order. In secret, Khaliset sought out means that could allow her to revive her deceased daughter Eshe. By 48 BCE, she went rogue and discovered an Isu vault beneath the Great Pyramid of Giza.[1]
In 46 BCE, after the death of most members of the Order of the Ancients and establishment of the Hidden Ones, one of deceased members of the Ancients, Medunamun the Ibis' man Menkhtu, wore the mask of his former master and claimed himself as "The Ibis Reborn", founding of his own sect attempted to break into the Isu vault under the Great Pyramids, to touch the Vault pedestal to obtain the mysterious ancient power.
